Our friends, Bonny and Michael, have a house on the water in the Eastern Shore of Maryland that they have generously invited us to use on several occasions. We have been there two other times only for a weekend. This time we went out there for a whole week to celebrate our anniversary and spend a little bonding time with Sophie Lee and Celeste. It was heavenly.
We did a little exploring, including taking a drive out to Hooper's Island where we found some oystermen who sold us a hundred supremely delicious oysters for twenty dollars. Mostly, though, we hung around the house looking out at the geese and bufflehead ducks, cooking dinners on a Tuscan grill in the fireplace (including some wild goose given to us by a neighbor), and going for short walks nearby.
Celeste had an absolute ball. I think she might still be missing it. She spent most of the day outside running around, chasing wildlife, and even jumping in the water. I loved going for walks with her without the leash. She was hilarious bouncing around in the snow, and it was delightful to watch her proudly dash in to a huge flock of resting geese sending them wheeling into the sky, honking like mad.
We also spent many hours rocking and adoring Sophie Lee who kept working hard at her jobs: eating, sleeping, and producing dirty diapers.
Thank you Bonny and Michael for making such a lovely week possible!

What glorious photos! Your really captured the essence of the place. I'm so jealous Celeste got to romp in the snow while poor Sookie was at doggy camp. So glad you enjoyed paradise for a week. More photos! More photos!
