To be honest, I have never been a big fan of babies. Kids yes, but babies have always seemed so fragile, larval, and needy. Almost alien. Holding them always kind of scared me.
Baby pictures are nice and it is always fun to peruse a few when someone close sends them, but I have a limited appetite and a handful are usually plenty to satisfy it.
So it came as a surprise to me how much I enjoy holding Sophie Lee and taking her picture. I knew things would be different with my own baby, but I didn't realize it would be this different.
It came as an even bigger surprise to me that so many people have been demanding pictures of Sophie Lee. I have sent scores. As beautiful as she is to her father, I feel like everyone else's eyes should be glazing over by now, but still the demands continue.
If you are one of the satiated ones, feel free to put this site behind your firewall. I completely understand. But if you are a Sophie Lee fan (say a grandparent) or just a baby nut, here is a place for us to share little updates--we promise to keep them brief and narrative based (no feeding schedules or bowel movement charts)--and pictures.
We also want to share pictures and stories about our wonderful dog Celeste who did a great job of teaching us to love something in our care in the two months leading up to Sophie's birth. She has been with us less than 3 months, but we can't imagine life without her.
