On the Road Again

School ended on June 15 and we were packed and on the road the next morning. We had planned to make our first stop at Falling Water in Pennsylvania, but the essential Chester Popcorn got left at home and we blew a couple hours returning for him, so we decided to make a big push.

I drove all night stopping at rest areas to shake the cobwebs out, including this one in Iowa at dawn:

Sophie Lee woke up later after an amazingly good night sleep in the car:

We made it to Lincoln, Nebraska by the early afternoon the next day and got to spend the afternoon and evening with John.

The next day we headed out through the Sand Hills of  Nebraska on Rt. 2. We stopped in Broken Bow for a playground break on the town green.
